Exams! Exams!…. No, Divali! Divali! Divali!….

Divali is a season of joy.  Just as a student looks forward to it, however, there is always an exam looming large!  Nonetheless, it is time to snatch moments and enjoy Divali to the fullest. Of course, without letting the hanging sword of exam bother you.

In fact, I always feel in India our psyche needs to go through a paradigm shift.  Typically our students let it go when they enter an undergraduate college after regimented school days and easily get into a new mould of having fun.  Suddenly exam-days dawn and everybody gets into studying mode, day and night.  This builds a lot of unnecessary pressure as you get into higher studies.

Particularly in postgraduate studies, if one can keep up with the ongoing courses, it makes things a lot easier and life truly enjoyable. A new art of living, perhaps! At SCIT you need to practice it.

So have a joyous Divali and snatch those moments of fun!

Hello there! Welcome to my blog!

Well, for some time now I have been thinking of writing a blog.  Not just because it is the ‘in thing’ to do in this era, but I would love to communicate and share - particularly with SCITizens and also those who would like to be SCITizens.

After a long stint in the industry when I decided to switch over to education, every now and then I would face the same questions. “Why did you change over to education?”  “Are you happy teaching?” The first few months it even made me wonder if I had made the right move.  But in my heart of heart I knew my second innings was going to be as enjoyable as my first.  Because, at the core, I love teaching and learning. Even those who work with me invoke the teacher in me. When I get there in the class, my students give me the greatest joy.  When I see my students graduate, it makes me very proud and when they write to me about their success stories I just firm up my resolve that I and my colleagues together should make more things happen.

So friends, I am in the right profession and I love it! And that does not mean my 35 years in the IT field were any less enjoyable.  But I realise that being with students gives me a different kick, especially if I can share with them whatever I can.  The years that have built my treasure of experiences, can add a dimension with different nuances to the subjects that I deal with. And I enjoy it even more. So students, here I am, to have a dialogue with you.

If you have a query to make, an opinion to voice or an idea to share – just put it on my blog. I look forward to hearing from you and rest assured, I will post a reply at the earliest.

Remember! SCIT is your institute. And your involvement is invaluable! So I hope you’ll make frequent and good use of my blog.

Let us dialogue!
